Description

The “Torre delle Stelle” in Aielli – the Marsican hamlet that became famous thanks to its colorful murals – is one of the most interesting attractions of the town. The project, started in 2001, was built around the recently restored ancient medieval tower and it attracts every year thousands of tourists. 

The Star Tower is nowadays an astronomical observatory that hosts a room dedicated to the moon and the space, as well as the planetary and the astrolabe. During the year, the locals organize every kind of activities: thanks to their efforts, Aielli has become of the most attractive places of the whole Marsica. 

The planetary hosts several different events: from the laboratory dedicated to the Christmas comet to the moon observations. The are also thematic events, like the one organized for the Epiphany, dedicated to the discovery of the start that, according to the tradition, guided the Magi towards the newborn Jesus Christ. 

Finally, it is worth noting that during summer nights, concerts or other cultural events are organized in synchrony with the start gazing.
