Great success for Pasotti and the play "Io, Shakespeare e Pirandello"

Last night, November 21st, the theater inside the Orsini Colonna Castle was packed. Giorgio Pasotti sold every ticket for his play “Io, Shakespeare e Piradello”, introducing the fifth theater season of Teatro Off from the company Teatranti Tra Tanti.

Before the play, Alessandro Martorelli, Maria Antonietta Dominici, and Nello Simonelli greeted the audience and retraced the step of the growth of Teatro Off in the last five years.

The actor brought on stage the atmospheres created by two literary giants, William Shakespeare and Luigi Pirandello, in front of 240 people.

Using a colloquial and playful language, Giorgio Pasotti, along with Claudia Tosoni, recited important monologues from “Julius Caesar”, “Hamlet”, and “The Man with a Flower in His Mouth”.

At the end of the night, Giorgio Pasotti declared: “My best wishes to the Teatro Off, that is not off at all: it is in fact a place where you can find lively ideas.”

“On behalf of the Teatro Off, I want to thank the town of Avezzano and our sponsors,” added the artistic director Alessandro Martorelli. “Thanks to the technicians, the entire staff and, most of all, the audience. The past two years have been difficult, and seeing all these people inside a theatre makes us pride and happy. Without you, we wouldn’t be here.”

The next show will be held on December 16th, at 9:00 p.m., with “Gioacchino’s Last Dream” played by the Barnum theater company: the play retells the opinions of Belli about the small and great themes of Rome.
