Come into Marsica and discover the beating heart of Abruzzo

In Collelongo, the House-Museum of Luciano Ventrone

Thanks to an initiative by the Luciano Ventrone and Miranda Gibilisco ETS Foundation, you will be able for the first time to visit the extraordinary house-museum where the artist lived and worked from 1994 till his death in 2021. It is a wonderful occasion to discover some unknown masterpieces of what Federico Zeri called “the Caravaggio of the 20th century”, mostly because of his “skillfully violent” still lives.

The project aims to create international partnerships to contribute to the revival of the Abruzzo territory through culture, offering to the community a new space dedicated to research and education.

You can visit the house-museum booking an appointment. It will open the first time on June 18th, 2022, with many initiatives in collaboration with local institutions that will liven it with educational activities, painting courses, etc. The house-museum is in Collelongo, a small town near a valley that stretches from the Fucino till the Abruzzo National Park. Here the Roman artist created some of its best painting, especially some of his most famous still lives.

Miranda Gibilisco, president of the Luciano Ventrone and Miranda Gibilisco Ets Foundation, widow of the artist, says: “The house-museum glorify his experimental universe. It represents a complete view on the art and on an extremely personal style that we can synthetize in the formula form + color = light, extremely actual and inspirational for many contemporary artists. Now the public can discover it in the house-museum in Collelongo”.
